Operations Secret Squirrel, Desert Storm, Valkyrie

Operation Secret Surprise, flown by the 596th Bomb Squadron, Barksdale AFB, also known as Secret Squirrel, was a long-range B-52G Stratofortress cruise missile strike against Iraqi targets that initiated the bombing campaign during Desert Storm (It was given the unofficial nickname ‘Operation Secret Squirrel’ by the B-52 crews.) The mission took place January 16, 1991, and ended January 17, 1991. Each version of this patch was commissioned as part of the reunion of crewmembers to recognize the 25th anniversary of the operation. 4″ dia, 100% embroidered, merrowed border, hook back.
